Un poco de nuestra historia
En el siglo XVIII, Málaga fue conocida en el mundo entero por la exportación de sus vinos.
Estos vinos procedentes de viñas cultivadas en los Montes de Málaga (hoy Parque Natural) se elaboraban en casas llamadas “lagares”.
En 1878 con la llegada de la filoxera (enfermedad de la vid) procedente de Francia, las viñas son destruidas.
Los habitantes de los Montes de Málaga se ven obligados a abandonar sus “lagares” en busca de otras formas de vida.
La mayoría de familias emigran a América y los lagares se convierten en ruinas o son transformados.
Apenas unos pocos llegan a nuestros días.
Lagar los Pilones hoy
Lagar los Pilones es un ejemplo de esta antigua forma de vida,
Se ha conservado gracias a que ha pasado de padres a hijos durante muchas generaciones.
En el año 2003 fue rehabilitado respetando su estructura original y conservando los elementos de elaboración del vino como la prensa, que estrujaba la uva o las grandes tinajas de barro enterradas en el suelo donde fermentaba el vino.
Hoy en día, Lagar los Pilones es un lugar de encuentro para familias de varias generaciones. Abuelos, padres y nietos que no se ven tanto como desearían o grupos de amigos que quieren disfrutar juntos de sus vacaciones.

Y la vida pasa tan rápido que necesitamos exprimir los pequeños momentos que pasamos con los que más queremos.
Momentos tan preciados como una comida alrededor de una gran mesa, las risas de los más pequeños o una entrañable conversación bajo un árbol.
Las paredes y jardines de Lagar Los Pilones están llenos de historias sencillas que fueron mágicas para quienes las vivieron.

Excellent villa with the most amazing views over the mountains and to the sea. The villa is a perfect place for peaceful retreat and at the same time a great location from which to explore Malaga and the region. In late October the pool was refreshing and enjoyable for the full family. Shopping is convenient in the stores in nearby village Colmenar where the Churrería opens in the morning for local breakfast. Carmen is an excellent host being incredibly helpful and attentive, communicating fast and timely in perfect English. All in all, our highest recommendations given.

Pasamos una semana maravillosa. La casa esta perfecta y lejos de la agitacion de la costa. Pudimos visitar los olrededores y aprovechar de la tranquilidad del lugar con un vista magnifico

We had a wonderful stay at the house which have a very beautiful view located in the mountains with no close neighbors nearby, so we felt all alone. Quick, friendly and easy communication with Carmen.

Maria del Carmen's home is a gem. We spent 6 nights in this beautiful property. It was a good base for exploring the area. We drove to Granada for the day, to Ronda, also Sentinel de las Bodegas and of course Malaga. Because the house is on top of a hill, its very fresh, and you dont need A/C. It was a nice relief when we arrived from our day trips in boiling hot Andalucia. We also used the pool on the hottest days. The area is beautiful with little towns set in picturesque hills and beautiful country roads. It gets less tourism so it was very quiet and pristine. From the house you can see a few of the little towns. We had everything we needed and more. Maria del Carmen was always quick to answer our questions and very friendly. I will definitely recommend this house if you are in the area.

I think it would be hard to find a better accommodation in the Colmenar area with such ambiance and views. We found the location very suitable for day trips to Malaga, Granada, Cordoba, etc. Also, had one of our better meals of our entire trip at La Taberna de Flores in Colmenar.

This is a house with spectacular view for sunsets and sunrises. It is at 850m height and therefore it is slightly colder than in the cities down. It has lots of areas to relax and is very cosy. Thumbs up for the extra fridge for the drinks! We haven't met Carmen but she was responsive to all our questions.
Carmen is a great host. When the AC did not work, she bought a new and got it installed. Always available and helpful.

Vi hade en underbar vecka! Carmens hus är en av de bästa Airbnb som vi bott i under de senare åren. Allt man behöver för en lugn och avkopplande semester finns här!
